The Woman behind the Success of Gitgit’s Environtmental Conservation

Her spirit became flared after hearing the socialization of Waste Bank program of Maha Bhoga Marga Foundation (MBM) in Gitgit Village office, because there were foundation that were ready to assist as her thought.

At the beginning, this waste bank group consisted of only four people and continue to grow up to 40 people by the end of December 2016. In the spirit of the importance of preserving the environment, they routinely performed activities of waste sorting by type.

The impact is already being felt from this activity which already the plastic wastes no longer to be found scattered around the waterfall tourist attraction and also around the neighborhood. Another impact of the activities of the bank are they could add an average income of IDR 40.000 per month. This value is small but they feel quite proud to have played a part in reducing plastic waste pollution in Gitgit that they are loved.
